No. You really shouldn't delay, as the windshield is an important structural element of your vehicle. A small crack will likely become a large crack in a short amount of time.
Why does it matter how damaged the glass is?
Windshield glass chips may be repairable. A windshield repair involves injecting a clear resin into the damaged area rather than replacing the entire windshield. While most windshield cracks less than six inches in length can be repaired, the damage will need to be examined by one of our technicians to determine if the damage can be repaired or requires a full replacement. The location of the crack is also a determining factor if it can be repaired. If the damage is in the driver’s “critical viewing area” it is not usually recommended for a repair.
Is there any difference between my car’s windshield and the rear and side glass windows?
Your windshield and the other glass in your vehicle is designed and manufactured for your safety in the event of an accident. Your car’s windshield is made of laminated “safety glass”. This safety glass is made up of two pieces of glass with a clear layer of vinyl between them so in the event of a collision, the windshield will remain intact.
The rear and side windows are made of tempered glass and are designed to shatter into small pieces upon breaking. Some auto manufacturers will use laminated glass for their side windows for superior sound quality and strength.
What exactly is OEM glass?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
This means that a company, who supplied the original auto glass to the vehicle manufacturer, manufactured the glass. Glass manufactured by an OEM would be your first choice for your car’s replacement windshield.
Can you provide me my quote via email?
Yes. By completing our request a quote form, we will be able to email you a quote for your windshield’s replacement. Turn-a-round time on the quotes is determined by the time of the request for quote. To schedule an appointment you simple need to call 920-731-8176 or 800-521-5221.
How long does it take to repair or replace a windshield?
To repair a small crack or chip to your windshield is relatively quick it only takes about 30-35 minutes. For a complete windshield replacement, the time length will vary based on the complexity of the installation, the adhesives used to mount the windshield as well as the "safe drive time" (the time until your vehicle may be driven to allow the adhesives to fully cure making it safe to operate).

Windshield Repair
Road debris often strikes a windshield and creates damage in the glass. The damage usually ranges from small "nicks" to areas as large as a 50-cent piece. Most breaks smaller than a quarter diameter can be repaired. Most breaks have a dark or silver appearance when the damage first occurs. The repair process may remove the shadow and restore the appearance. Some breaks with small fractures will leave a reflection after the repair has been completed. If your damage is located within the driver's line of sight (an area of 8 1/2 X 11 inches) you should not repair the break. Windshield Repairs can:
-Stop damage from spreading
-Improve clarity in the damaged area
-Be environmentally friendly-extends useful life of the glass
-Save consumers money of windshield replacement

Insurance
Most insurance companies will waive any deductible you may have when you choose to have a chip repaired rather than replacing your windshield.
Your car was built to not only provide a means of transportation, but also to help protect you in the event of an accident. All repair work done to your car is regulated by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) to ensure that all parts and their installation meet the performance requirements that contribute to your safety.
Your windshield, made of laminated glass, is classified as a "safety device" because it provides structural strength to your car body, helps keep passengers inside the car if an accident should occur, and supports the inflation and performance of passenger side air bags.
What to expect when replacing your windshield
Most windshields will take approximately One hour to install and then should not be driven for an hour after replacement is complete.
Sometimes an automotive retention tape will be applied to hold your moldings in place. This tape should be left on for 24 hours and then removed.
After a windshield replacement is completed on your vehicle it is best to avoid a power car wash for 24 hours. Rain, snow, washer fluid will not compromise the installation.
